Prepping LP #2; April shows in DeKalb, Chicago; Saki Records live session coming soon

There might not be a duo these days – in Chicago or elsewhere – making as big of a noise as Brontosaurus.

On the heels of their self-released debut EP Cold Comes To Claim (Plustapes), the gents are

poised to follow-up all of their exciting 2011 with a monster 2012.

Sharing not only a first name but also a passion for ornate pop with dynamic leanings,

Kelley and Papaleo have kept busy since Claim‘s CD/vinyl/tape release in 2011: Sharing stages with city draws

like Maps & Atlases, The Soil & The Sun, and Young Jesus; impressing road audiences at SXSW, as

well as on the east coast; recording an Epitonic.com live session at Saki Records; all the while,

debuting new material for their sophomore effort, which the band hopes to have out by the end of the year.

The band will be swinging through DeKalb and Chicago this month, playing shows with Rockford

collective The Island of Misfit Toys, the echo-heavy indie-pop of Like Pioneers [ex-Bound Stems],

and Ireland’s Autumn Owls, in the area to record a new album with Brian Deck

[Modest Mouse, Iron & Wine, Califone]. Info on those shows are below.

Welcome to our shiny new website. If you like it please track down Erik Harms of Yeti. Aim. Fire who did a fantastic job putting it together.

I wanted to write a quick update about what’s going on this month and in the days to come. First off our debut album, Cold Comes To Claim, was release two days ago and we’re extremely proud of the record and its reception. The record can be heard for free and you can purchase the vinyl or download at our bandcamp site. Cassettes and CD’s purchase info will be available soon.

On Saturday we leave for a two week tour of the midwest and east coast so please take a look at the “Shows” tab for all the latest dates. We would love to see you.
